"Can You Feel the Moment?" (2019)
Can You Feel the Moment was written to embody those quick feelings of happiness and excitement that we feel in our younger years. The original draft for Can You Feel the Moment was written when Ryan Meredith was in high school, and was later reworked and adapter for a modern wind ensemble. The piece started off as a sort of reflection as Ryan was making the quick transition into college, but now it serves as even larger purpose. The piece commands younger and older generations alike to take life by the reins and to actively engage in the lives they are living, as opposed to passively letting each day come and go. When everything seems to be moving faster than ever, we owe it to ourselves to take a minute to absorb our surrounds and to enjoy each and every moment for everything it is worth.
